We help beekeepers from Bulgaria receive a fair share of their product. According to the European Commission, about 30% of the Bulgarian beekeepers will be gone by 2022. Our team decided to delve deep into the problem and investigate why is this happening. It seems that our local beekeepers cannot really sell their product at a fair price. The big honey buyers go around and buy honey in bulk as low as 1.6 EUR per kg. And we thought that this is insane!
Beekeeping is such an amazing craft. It's just giving, giving, giving but with time humans got accustomed to this generosity and they were neglected. Now we have mostly senior beekeepers who struggle to make ends meet with just beekeeping. No youngsters are going in their steps because the lack of financial security is unattractive, to say the least. Yet at the very same time most major media reports that bees and other pollinators populations are dwindling ...
This is why we decided to make a one-stop-shop for supporting beekeepers. We know our prices are high, but we pay our beekeepers 3-4 times the normal price for bulk honey, we run all necessary tests on all products to certify genuinity and quality and we make it easy for the fast-paced city person to obtain a jar of the glorious golden liquid - her majesty HONEY!
